Kabiru woke up suddenly as if startled from sleep by the urge to urinate. Since his legs had gone numb, he got up with a prayer on his lips to make his way to the bathroom. After he finished there and returned to his room, he started hearing noises. Deep in his heart, he felt like peeking to see what was making the noise, but he thought it was night, and perhaps it was just rats scurrying around. Despite hearing Kabiru's movements, Mommy called out to him, but he didn't hear her at all. She continued reciting verses from the Qur'an. When the supernatural entity approached to grab her, Mommy dodged it like a flash.
Kabiru, upon returning to his room and trying to sleep again, found that he couldn't sleep at all. His eyes remained wide open. He got up once more, performed ablution at his room's door, and prepared to enter his room. However, the noises had increased. Slowly, he started walking, shining his small flashlight around. Behind his room, he saw Mommy lying on the ground, shaking and moving her lips as if she was talking. Fear gripped him because even in his wildest dreams, he never expected to find his mother in such a state. Trembling, he asked, "Hajiya, are you okay?"
Mommy began to extend her hand towards him, calling his name. Seeing this, Kabiru hesitated to reach out to help her, but remembering what had happened to him before, he stepped back, reciting Ayatul Kursi and blowing it towards her, followed by Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas. It was as if his ears were suddenly cleared, and he could hear Mommy's words, unlike before. He squatted beside her and asked, "Hajiya, what brought you out at this time of night?" Feeling her strength return, Mommy said, "Kabiru, help me get inside before they kill me."
Kabiru's eyes widened in shock as he looked around, preparing to speak, but Mommy quickly grabbed his hand. He stepped back, screaming in fear, as he was completely terrified. The supernatural entity, hiding and waiting, wished Kabiru would leave so it could continue its plan. Mommy had already suffered greatly, but the entity still wanted to get her blood, by any means necessary, even if it had to use sorcery to do so.
Kabiru was about to run back into his room when a thought occurred to him that perhaps the same demons had done to Mommy what they had done to him, scaring her to come out. With a prayer on his lips, he approached her again. Mommy leaned on his shoulder and stood up shakily, struggling to stay on her feet and walking with difficulty, her head still pounding. Kabiru escorted her to the door, and she insisted that he accompany her all the way to Daddy's door before she would let him go back to his room.
Once inside, she collapsed at the door, continuing to recite every verse that came to her lips. By the time she returned to the room, Daddy was already asleep. Crawling, she made her way to the bed, calling his name. However, what frightened her even more was the way she heard him snoring—a loud, terrifying snore. The lightbulb in the room flickered as if about to go out.
