I spent the night tossing and turning, worried that he might inform my family, as he seemed to have no shame in reporting me, considering he had already reported me to Aunty.
Seeing that the morning arrived safely, I took a bath and put on my clothes—a long dress with two layers, which we could call a Saudi or Dubai dress. I left the house without a headscarf and headed to the usual resting spot by the rock.
The time showed eight in the morning. I decided to forgive Mansura for not accompanying me, and I didn't even bother with breakfast. As I stood there contemplating things I knew I couldn't achieve, such as the prince being angry at my words from yesterday and telling me to go marry Anwar, I lifted my head towards the balcony of his room. I saw him sitting in a chair with his legs propped up on the table in front of him.
I turned away and began climbing the rock. After fifteen minutes, I felt the urge to enter the ravine by stepping on the lined-up stones leading into the small forest where the water flowed. The stones were dry despite being surrounded by water, as long as you stepped on them.
I immediately took off my shoes and slipped into the water, carefully stepping on the stones. As I stood there looking around, I glanced at Faysal's balcony. Just as I turned away and muttered to myself, I saw a huge snake approaching me in the water, its mouth open and hissing. I didn't realize when I backed away quickly, screaming. Within moments, it blocked my path, and I was paralyzed with fear, unable to move.
I shut my eyes tightly and screamed, escalating to calling out for the prince. The snake struck my leg, and I felt a sharp pain, causing me to let out another scream. I opened my eyes and saw Prince Faysal running towards me with others behind him.
I kept shouting, "Snake! Snake!!" He didn't hesitate to step on the stones but ran straight through the water. My vision blurred, and I could only faintly hear the voices of people and feel someone shaking me and calling my name.
I felt myself being lifted and carried, with Prince Faysal shouting at people. He picked me up and ran, but after that, I lost consciousness.
Gradually, I tried to move my eyelids, signaling my desire to open them. Amidst this, I heard the prince calling my name. "Yasmin! Yasmin!!" I felt his hand on my forehead.
"Is she moving?" I heard someone ask.
"Yes, she's moving her eyelids."
I spent about five minutes in this state, unable to open my eyes, but I could hear what was being said. Feeling something cold on my forehead helped ease the heaviness in my eyelids, and my eyes finally opened to see Faysal sitting by the bedside, applying the cold object. He quickly threw it aside and lifted me, hugging me to his chest, and let out a sigh of relief. Then he said, "She's awake." He laid me back down gently and kissed my forehead. After that, people started peeking in to check on me, their eyes red as if they were suffering from Apollo's disease.
