King Dr. Nasir Sa'ad Muhammad is the thirteenth king of the Azare emirate in Bauchi, northern Nigeria. He is a grandson of His Highness Muhammad Nuhu, the eleventh king of Azare. His father, King Sa'ad, was the twelfth king of the Fulani region, and after him came Nasir Sa'ad as the thirteenth king. He has many siblings, both from the same mother and different mothers, but he was the only one chosen by Allah to be given the throne of Katagum despite having many elder siblings.
King Nasir Sa'ad is an educated and sophisticated leader, holding a Ph.D. in secular education. In terms of religious knowledge, he is deeply versed and highly respected. He is a just and knowledgeable leader who shows compassion to his subjects in every aspect. He does not tolerate injustice from anyone, regardless of their status, and ensures that any wrongdoer in the emirate is punished, though sometimes incidents are kept from his knowledge to avoid his disapproval.
He is known for his generosity and charity, especially towards the less fortunate. He often helps young women preparing for marriage by providing them with household items, relying on his wealth rather than government funds. This generosity endears him to the people of Azare and the surrounding areas, who hold him and his family in high regard, always wishing them well because if his kindness does not reach someone directly, it benefits others.
He has three wives. His first wife, Fulani Sa'adatu, is the mother of his house and his first love; they married as young lovers and have five children together—four daughters and one son, the youngest. She is outwardly friendly, acting as if there is no one she loves more than you, but secretly, she is conniving. Her main ambition is for her son, the youngest, to eventually inherit the Katagum throne, ensuring no other children from the co-wives get the chance.
His second wife, Fulani Rabi'atu, is a princess and granddaughter of a king, also a queen. She is the daughter of the Emir of Kano, inheriting the throne from her father. He married her shortly after being crowned. She exudes confidence and authority, and from her demeanor and speech, it is evident that royal blood runs through her veins. She is very beautiful, fair-skinned, and comes from a lineage known for its beauty.
Fulani Rabi'atu has four children—three sons and one daughter. Her first pregnancy resulted in triplets, all boys. After them, she had another son who passed away, and then she had a daughter. She stopped having children after that, believing she had achieved her desire of having sons, as she sees sons as advantageous in a royal household. Her children are the leading males in the family since the others are females who are married, and hers are the ones involved in all royal matters. She has isolated her children from their cousins to the extent that one of them might not recognize his female cousins even though they know each other, believing her children are superior.
Fulani Rabi'atu's greatest ambition is to be the mother and grandmother of kings, hoping her son will inherit the Katagum throne and rule as she envisions. She selected her most loyal and educated son, who also has wealth, to take charge despite all three of her sons lacking the qualities necessary to lead the community. Regardless, she insists they will inherit the throne, whether they want it or not, using any means necessary.
His third wife, Fulani Rukayya, is a gentle-natured woman who does not concern herself with the ambitions of the others. She has four children—three daughters and one son, the youngest. Her daughters are all married except for one who remains under her care.
