The young boy, not more than ten years old, startled awake from his dining chair as he attempted to start his breakfast. His body shivered with fear when he heard the sound of glass shattering from the kitchen where his parents were. He barely managed to swallow his fear of what was happening inside. Hesitantly, he started to walk slowly, approaching the kitchen door and peeking inside to see what was going on, even though he knew that what he was trying to do was not a good idea because his mother had warned him about such behavior, especially around adults.

His mother turned her back on him and continued with what she was doing without paying attention to him or listening to his pleas. At that moment, she was beyond words, her anger and distress were evident. She felt as if her heart would burst from the tension and jealousy of seeing her husband with another woman the previous night, which was the cause of her current frustration. She was trying to express her dissatisfaction and show him his mistake, but it seemed he was too distant and unresponsive to her pleas.

“Please, Tawa, be patient. I promised I wouldn’t do it again, and this is something we have to manage. Do you hear me?” He said, smiling faintly, and then reached out to turn her around so they were facing each other, beginning to speak.
