Kano Governor Responds to Ganduje on 2027 Elections
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has stated that the ruling NNPP in the state will not be intimidated by any threats from the former governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, regarding the 2027 elections.
Daily Trust recalls that Ganduje had vowed to reclaim Kano from the NNPP in the upcoming 2027 elections. His statement was conveyed through the Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, during a meeting with former lawmakers from the 8th and 9th assemblies in the state.
However, while responding on Wednesday during the distribution of aid to 5,200 beneficiaries, Governor Yusuf said:
"Let me tell you, anyone who threatens the people of Kano will face consequences. We are ready, and I will not hesitate to take decisive action against such individuals.
“To those talking about reclaiming power in 2027, let me remind you that power belongs to God. He is the one who grants leadership, and we are praying for Him to give it to whoever will bring the most benefit to the people of Kano.
“We are not focusing on the 2027 elections. Our priority is to fulfill the promises we made to the people of Kano and to carry out the responsibilities they have entrusted to us.
“Our mission is to continue delivering the dividends of democracy and serving our people.
“May God give us the strength and ability to achieve this and to see 2027 in good health,” the governor concluded.
